Computerized Tomography (CT) is a medical imaging method where one attempts to recover the absorption coefficient from the incoming and outgoing intensities. The underlying mathematics question is an integral geometry problem: can one recover a function from its line or plane integrals ? We will give a brief introduction to this problem and review some classical results in dimension two and three.
报告人简介：
Professor Yang Yang’s research focuses on inverse problems arising in medical imaging and geophysical imaging with connections to mathematical physics and relativity theory. The involved mathematics includes partial differential equation theory, functional analysis, microlocal analysis, Riemannian and Lorentzian geometry, and numerical simulations using programming software.
